Professor Xu Qiang and colleagues visited Crustal Stress Institute, China Earthquake Administration for academic exchanges & strategic cooperation ----2018-09-18

On September 12, at the invitation of Xu XiWei, researcher/director of the Crustal Stress Research Institute, China seismological bureau, Professor Xu Qiang, Professor Ju Nengpan and Professor Feng Wenkai visit the institute for academic exchanges and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. Hu Jie, Deputy Director of the Earthquake and Geohazards Rescuing Department of the Emergency Management Ministry, Director Xu Xiwei, Deputy Director Yang Shuxin, and a large number of scientific research personnel and postgraduate students of the institute attended the academic exchange and witnessed the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between the two sides.

Professor Xu Qiang made a report titled "Security Challenges and Opportunities for towns in the mountain area". The report in detail explained the genetic background of the growth of seismic and geological hazards and their catastrophic influence towards towns in mountain area through examples, integrated sky- space- ground “three check” system and monitoring and early warning technology, and comprehensive monitoring and early warning system of multi-disasters and promoting the ability of active prevention.

Professor Ju Nengpan made a report titled "the Big Data Platform and Monitoring and Early Warning System of Geohazards". The report was combined with the development of the real-time monitoring platform for geohazards, explained in detail the fusion technology of big data cloud platform and digital earth. And Professor Ju made an online demonstration of real-time online monitoring of geohazards, real-time data processing, real-time information releasing through several ways.

At the meeting, Professor Xu Qiang, Professor Ju Nengpan and the researchers participated in the meeting held a warm and in-depth discussion on the monitoring and warning technologies, disaster mechanism analysis and data processing methods of geohazards. After the meeting, professor Xu Qiang and his colleagues visited the laboratory of the Institute on the spot. The academic exchange has achieved good results.
