Prof. Huang Runqiu won the academic lifetime achievement award HANS CLOOS MEDAL by IAEG and also delivered a keynote lecture ----2018-09-22
 

September 17 witnessed that the 13th conference of International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) emceed by Prof. Scott Burns, chairman of IAEG in San Francisco. At the conference, Prof. Huang Runqiu, director of our lab, won HANS CLOOS MEDAL, the academic lifetime achievement award and made a keynote lecture.

 

 

Hans Cloos Medal

Hans Cloos Medal is a senior award, which is presented by the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) under Hans Cloos’s name, a famous German engineering geologist, since 1976 to an engineering geologist of outstanding merit. It is normally awarded every two years during an international congress of the IAEG. So far, 22 people from around the world have won this award. Prof. Wang Sijing, former chairman of IAEG and academician of Institute Of Geology and Geophysics also won the award in 2008.

At the same time, the IAEG executive committee voted unanimously to host the 14th International Engineering Conference in Chengdu, China jointly by our lab and the Chinese group of IAEG.
